10 BEST ROADS IN THE WORLD

The most beautiful roads around the world are engineering tricks that take you to some of the most beautiful landscapes on our planet. We have chosen 10 of the best roads in the world which are amazing destinations in themselves and offer breathtaking views. Whether you are a sports car or  SUV, all of these routes offer unique experiences, some more challenging than others.

10. LIESEWAGEN ROAD, NORWAY

With an intense vibe with gorgeous fjord views and 27 hairpin curves, Lydfjord to Lyffjord to Sirdal Road  Norway tops our bucket list. At an altitude of more than 3,100 feet (950 m) above sea level, you will be driving through the clouds as you descend into the village of Lizbotan which is situated at the bottom of the valley. On the way, you will pass the mountain lake Sulsuckervagan with several viewpoints where you can drag and take in the scenery. It should come as no surprise that the entire area is great for hiking and that you can take a spectacular cruise from Legboten to Fejord.

9. LEH-MANALI HIGHWAY, INDIA

The infamous Leh-Manali highway passes through the majestic Himalayan mountain range. It is known that this route is 298 miles long and passes through mountain passes which are so high, that you can get a disease of high altitude! Tourists come here in summer when the weather is more forgiving. And if you are planning a trip, you will be happy to know that the road conditions have improved in recent years. However, it is still one of the most challenging routes on our list!

8. PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY, USA

It is one of those great All-American roads that pass through 128 miles of bumpy winds. The  California coastline takes you across the beaches and into the redwood forests with stunning views across the Pacific Ocean. On the way, you will pass through two major state parks: Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and Garrapata State Park, passing through historic cities such as Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Nature reserves such as Point Lobos State Reserve are home to an extraordinary array of flora and fauna, and from December to April, you can also see some migrating gray whales as you navigate the route.

7. AMALFI DRIVE, ITALY

A drive across the Amalfi Coast Will transport you through a fascinating mix of glamorous coastal cities, expansive views over the turquoise sea, cliffs, and pastel-colored mountain villages. The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its outstanding Mediterranean scenery and a coastal road trip is one of the best ways to experience it. The road is famously narrow and winding hugs Cliffside and gives you a dramatic panorama. The best stretch is between Salerno and Positano. This route allows you to take yourself to the city of Amalfi and has some of the best opportunities for hiking in the surrounding hills.

5. ROUTE 1, ICELAND

This unique natural road takes you around it in a circular path. Most of the island's most iconic natural sites are passing through. At 824 miles, it is not a short day trip, but there are a lot more extravagant experiences on the way to the crowds! We highly recommend stopping at Seljalandfloss waterfall and Skogafoss waterfall. Although you will cross several waterfalls along the route, these are the most impressive. You can enjoy different types of hot springs and rivers. Other unrivaled sites include the rocks at Deerholy, the black sand beaches at Vic, the Jolkleson glacial lagoon, and the icy Diamond Beach.
